Johann Joseph Ignaz Brentner
Brk 2

Missa Dominicalis

The work has survived uniquely in the music collection of the Göttweig Abbey; a transcript of the mass from the music collection of nearby Herzogenburg monastery is lost. The set of parts was probably written in the composer's hand, as the handwriting bears similar features to manuscripts of Missa Divi Angeli Custodis (Brk 1) and Requiem solemne (Brk 4) kept in Göttweig and three mourning motets from Prague (Brk 85, Brk 87, Brk 89). The type of paper used for Brk 2 and its format differs from other autograph manuscripts. Antonín Reichenauer used the same paper for his "Cantata de B. V. M. ad Montem Sanctum" composed in Prague slightly before or in 1723.

Instrumentation:
C, A, T, B ; 2 vl, org (= bc)

Composition: Around 1723
