Concerto da camera in F

In terms of its genre, the present composition can be definitively categorized as a trio sonata. The catalogue as well as the edition (see below) keep the original title of the work, which may reflect an older conception of the term “concerto” as a designation for a composition combining multiple instruments or parts, as it was defined, for example, by Tomáš Baltazar Janovka in his music dictionary published in Prague. The fact that trio sonatas were designated in this way routinely in the Czech Lands is demonstrated, for example, by the Osek inventory, where the word “concerto” is used for the vast majority of instrumental compositions “a tre”. For the first part of the composition, two parts for ad libitum use (Oboe and Flauto, i.e. recorder) are available in the sole source of the composition.
